The Duma Commission for Monitoring the Reliability of Information on the Income and Expenses of Deputies (what a name!) confirmed the participation of A Just Russia deputy Gennady Gudkov in business activities. This, according to the Duma, gives grounds to deprive Gudkov of his deputy mandate.

Now the commission must send its conclusion to the Chairman of the Duma, Sergei Naryshkin, who must bring this issue up for discussion by the Duma Council, which, in turn, must bring this issue up to a meeting of the chamber.

True, the deputies claim that the discussion of the issue regarding the actual deprivation of Gudkov’s mandate will not take place on September 12, as previously promised, but later. The problem, as it turned out, was that the Duma Council began on September 10 an hour earlier than the commission meeting and had to determine the agenda for the plenary meeting before the commission could decide anything about Gudkov. Deputy Speaker Sergei Zheleznyak did not rule out that the issue concerning Gudkov will be considered on September 14, that is, on the eve of the March of Millions (the issue with which has also not yet been resolved).

It’s curious: until now, no one among the decision-makers has been embarrassed that instead of a court decision on violation of the law, one can be content with the statement of the Prosecutor General that their actions contradict the ruling of the Constitutional Court, that some United Russia deputies themselves violate the law, but for some reason the deputies’ own routine did not violate.
