The first Council of the OPRF, convened by its secretary Yevgeny Velikhov at his Institute of Nuclear Physics named after Kurchatov, brought to mind a 20-year-old anecdote: "Long live the CPRS! .. at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant." The conscience of the nation, invited to a meeting of the "politburo" closer to the only nuclear reactor in Moscow, strongly phoned. Two hours behind the doors closed from the press - and a rapid trip to the residences, almost shying away from journalists. Alexander Kalyagin, who was the first to leave, said that he was in a hurry to go to the toilet, but he never returned under the rays of spotlights of TV people with ten cameras. Only the owner in a home shirt, it seems, was not afraid to shine here for an arbitrarily long time.
The agencies and dailies, of course, first of all transmitted two statements by the OPRF Council, signed by the academician right during the press conference, about the situation that had developed in connection with the espionage scandal, during which there were accusations of links between foreign special services and public associations of Russia, and about the situation in the Chelyabinsk Tank School, where hazing violates fundamental human rights, and the composition of 17 commissions of the chamber ... (Banker Fridman, for example, chose a commission for the formation of a healthy lifestyle.)
Who is interested? Yes, to the “public activists” themselves, whose reputation has already been tarnished by the presidential autograph under the law on NGOs.
Many of the 126 members of the OPRF tried in vain to disrupt the entry into force of this state act before the New Year, but even the Bundeschancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, could not do it. The “matter of honor” turned into their public humiliation when the plane with the grand dame flew to Berlin immediately after an audience at the German embassy with our human rights activists, and the next morning Rossiyskaya Gazeta came out with the decisive signature of Vladimir Putin.
Evgeny Velikhov reported as a great victory that the schedules for the examination of bills that are being approved by the State Duma and the Federation Council have been agreed upon, but he abstained from the figures and the announcement of the names.
With no less pride, the public was informed that the repair of a building in the center of Moscow, allocated for the office of the Public Chamber, was being financed from the budget. A business trip to Chelyabinsk for an independent investigation on the spot of the "case of Andrei Sychev" lawyer Andrey Kucherena (chairman of the OPRF commission on public control over the activities of law enforcement agencies, law enforcement agencies and the reform of the judicial and legal system) pays out of his own pocket. The hint that, they say, he hopes to be reimbursed later, when the travel plan for the regions is approved and agreed upon, the secretary and his right hand, Sergei Katyrin, pretended not to notice.
“Working atmosphere” and “free discussion” (it was in these words that the secretary of the OPRF described the two-hour vigil of the “politburo”), according to several people who were still present at the event, resulted in the traditional for people little known to each other pulling the blanket each in his direction. A consensus was reached immediately only on the question of which of the newspapers loyal to the authorities would become the tribune of the "public activists": it would be Tribuna, the former trade union Rabochaya Tribuna, the even more former newspaper of the Central Committee of the CPSU Socialist Industry.
