The Investigative Committee under the Russian Prosecutor's Office made a special statement on Wednesday, promising to continue the fight against corruption, "despite his posts and departments." According to “News Time” on Thursday, formally this document is not addressed to anyone, but the committee itself does not deny that this is the answer to the article of the head of the State Directorate of Viktor Cherkesov.
The reason for an article entitled "cannot be allowed that the soldiers turn into merchants," was the arrest of General of the FSKN Alexander Bulbov and his colleagues. Cherkesov doubted that in this case we are talking about a real fight against corruption. He claims that his subordinates became the victims of the "civil strife inside the Chekist environment." The head of the FSKN also indicated the bias of the SK representatives who conduct this investigation.
Representatives of the Investigative Committee made it clear that they regard the arrest of drug police precisely as a struggle against corruption. Most of the application consists of listing criminal cases against certain or officials - police officers, governors, investigators of the prosecutor’s office itself, etc. Bulbov’s case is mentioned only as one of the examples of an uncompromising struggle against corruption.
“The above numbers and examples indicate,” the document says, “that no position or belonging to one or another department can be a guarantee of responsibility for the crimes committed.”
Meanwhile, the deputy head of the FSKN, Alexander Fedorov, the day before suggested that the drug mafia could be behind the arrest of Bulbov. "I do not believe that such a person is stained, lured with some dirty fraud," he said.
In his article, Cherkesov made it clear that he considers Bulbov’s case revenge for his participation in the investigation of the “three whales” case, in which the FSB was involved. The general himself at the trial announced the same thing.
