The organizers of the Constituent Congress of the Party of Mikhail Kasyanov "The People for Democracy and Justice" managed to hold a meeting in the building "President-Hotel" in Ufa. According to the Grani.ru correspondent, during the introductory speech of Kasyanov in the hotel building, the light was turned off, and then the police said that the building was mined.
After disconnecting the light from the audience, they demanded to free the premises under the pretext that the hotel administration cannot ensure their safety. However, the organizing committee of the congress refused to do this, and the meeting continued in the dark.
Shortly before the end of the congress, representatives of law enforcement agencies stated that a bomb was laid in the building, and evacuated all those present.
As the Grani.ru correspondent notes, when Kasyanov headed to the airport, it became known that the power supply in the hotel building was restored and the police cordon was removed.
Initially, the congress was planned in the building of the local House of Culture, but 20 minutes before the event, the police also informed the organizers of the congress that the building was mined. In this regard, all people were evacuated and the congress was in the threat of a breakdown.
About 250 people gathered at the congress. This is the eighth meeting of the regional branch of the VAT party. Prior to this, meetings were held in Primorye, Khabarovsk, Ulan-Ude, Irkutsk, Tambov, Tula and Astrakhan.
The meeting in Astrakhan was held on Saturday, and meetings in Dagestan and Adygea were also held on Saturday. On Sunday, a meeting is scheduled in Voronezh and Arkhangelsk.
The party of Mikhail Kasyanov "The People for Democracy and Justice" was created on September 22 of this year. Konstantin Merzlikin was elected deputy chairman of the Presidium of the party, the chairman of the party’s executive committee, Alexander Polinkin. 10,114 people from 31 subjects of the Federation joined the party. According to the plans of the organizers, by the end of the year the number of the created party should be about 60 thousand people.
