The organization on security and cooperation in Europe itself is to blame for the problems that arose with its observers with an arrival in Russian elections. This is stated in the commentary of the Russian Foreign Ministry, published on Tuesday on the website of the ministry.
The Foreign Ministry claims that the requests for accreditation from observers through the Bureau for Democratic Institutes and Human Rights OSCE DIPCH began to enter the CEC only recently, although the Bureau was sent in advance "Explanations on the procedure." "Obviously, the officials of the bureau did not bother to timely provide observers with relevant information and materials," the Foreign Ministry assumes.
“All this suggests that in the Bureau itself, the confusion reigns even in such seemingly simple and obvious issues,” the Russian diplomatic department concludes. “But there is no shortage of attempts to diverte responsibility for the inviting side, and try to give this political subtext.”
Earlier, the organization on security and cooperation in Europe stated that its observers are not given Russian entry visas.
The other day, the representative of the BDIPCh Urdur Gunnarsdottir said that observers have not yet received entry visas. If the hitch with visas lasts another week, they, according to her, will be forced to abandon the visit to Russia. Hunnardottir said that the Russian embassies refused observers, citing the fact that instructions were not yet received on the issuance of such visas.
