I discovered the television program Leonid Parfienov “ Parfenon ” by chance, being busy with the search for some text on my computer. I know Parfyonov’s style thanks to his full -length documentaries - first of all, these are films about Russian Jews.
“Parfenon” (I perceive it as an analogue of the magazine) I read it two times with interest and pleasure-this time I opened it by chance, although more than three dozen issues have accumulated, not to mention the half-million subscribers ... I simply have no habit of regularly viewing anything other than the Echo of Moscow news feed. "Big" cinema I am used to watching a computer; And relatively recently, adequate reproductions of painting in high resolution appeared - it is possible to see the work of artists, about which, at best, with the bald .
... Parfyonov takes off “Parthenon” as a conversation with the viewer, who, as it were, is a long -standing acquaintance of the author and, moreover, his peer (approximately) his peer. To realize such a “alignment of forces” in the material , without moving into a good-natured-lubricious tone, is a very difficult task.
I would think that it is more difficult to do this, the more the author has a reason to believe that the reader himself knows a lot. For example, he knows who exactly accompanies Stalin in his walk along the Moskvoretsky bridge - because the reproduction of a famous picture present in one of the Parthenona issues accompanied us almost from the primer ... Or maybe this picture is meant in the song “ Where does the homeland begin? From the picture in your primer " ?
This is to the question of how not easy to talk and - all the more - make films about our general past ...
Parfyonov, of course, is a perfectionist. But he has enough perseverance to bring to a complete splendor every venture. He answers any questions of listeners and spectators, never dropping to treachery - but he could! - questions do not only naive, but also stupid, or even provoking ...
Parfyonov very successfully “hides” his impressive erudition, as is appropriate for a person with the mission of the enlightener. No scattering of names and facts - all this is woven into the fabric of the story, whether it is a conversation about literature, stories about the construction of monuments and their destruction, evidence of cultural conflicts, etc.
I am interested in listening to him, even if I mean the corresponding facts: Parfyonov never “speaks beautifully”, he is accurate and relaxed, as if such a level of ownership of the material is available to him without much effort ...
Listen to it and you as a rest from your endless affairs - right, you will not regret it.
