Farid Babaev and Party "Yabloko"

The Yabloko party accused the Echo of Moscow radio station of a biased attitude to the Yabloko party. The real reason for resentment, apparently, was that the “echo of Moscow” was the first to pull out and publicized the fact of negotiations between Putin and Yavlinsky, well, God be with him.

I am now interested in one specific episode: the “apple” reproached the “echo” that the radio station was not sufficiently covered the murder of the leader of the Yabloko party in Dagestan Farid Babaev, which occurred on the eve of the State Duma elections. For example, the program of Evgeny Kiselev “Power” was brought as an example, which did not mention the murder in a word. True, she was aired on the eve of the murder.

Here I must say that the policy in Dagestan is very simple: the parties are leased to different strong people: the mayor of Makhachkala Said Amirov, the mayor of Khasavyurt Saigidpasheov, the owner of Dagneft Gaji Makhachev and pr.

So the success of the party does not depend on its slogans, but on the number of trunks in the arsenal of the mentioned politician. You can even say that there is democracy in Dagestan, if only one trunk is considered in one voice. It is clear, however, that at the same time, some voters will not have any votes at all, while others will have a lot of them. Accordingly, the political struggle is concentrated not around the slogans, but around the one who will put more machine gunners near the polling station.

The ATP, the Communists and the Patriots of Russia, for example, in the last elections to the People’s Assembly of the Republic were rented by the mayor of Makhachkala, which led to a large case in the ranks of their leaders: alas, in Dagestan the phrase "Political Murder" has a unique national flavor.

Nobody rented the Yabloko party, and, accordingly, on the political map of Dagestan, it did not exist. She had zero trunks and zero chances. That is why the murder of Farid Babaev was a shock. From the very beginning it was intuitive-the reason was so vile, so small, so insignificant that it would not occur to a normal person.

The murder was immediately reported by Echo of Moscow, Grigory Yavlinsky flew to Dagestan (which was also immediately informed by the Echo of Moscow) and faded to the fullest: he said at the funeral that this was the political murder of the opponent of Putin.

President Aliyev was very unhappy and told Yavlinsky that the funeral was not a place for political propaganda. Frankly, the statement of Yavlinsky in the framework of the Dagestan political context looked strange: certainly Babaev was killed not because of Putin. For Putin and Bush in Dagestan are not killed.

Several months passed - and in March they took the killers. Killers showed as a customer on Abas Abasov, the son of the head of the Dokuzparinsky district Karimkhan Abasova. Kerimhan Abasov is the same person who shot a peaceful rally in his area. (A peaceful rally, however, successfully fired.)

Then, after the execution, the President of Dagestan demanded that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor’s office remove Abasov, Abasov quickly agreed with the bodies and remained in place. Farid Babaev often quoted this case as an example of President Aliyev’s inability to manage the republic - they say, he could not even put the head of the tiny Dokuzparinsky district.

They took Abas, began to take Kerimhan, Kerimhan locked himself in his luxurious mansion in Makhachkala and yelled that he would not give up alive. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Adilger Magomedtagirov wanted to take him storm as an action movie. His deputy, Sergey Chenchik, asked: "Why do you need new bloodshes?" In the end, the already mentioned owner of Dagneft, Haji Makhachev (two deadlines in prison, two in the State Duma) entered the mansion and withdrew the rebellious head of the district.

Kerimkhan Abasov spent several hours during interrogation and ... again agreed! Kerimhan was released, and the killers changed the testimony. I had a wonderful conversation on this subject with Kasumbek Amirbekov, the head of the Investigative Committee at the prosecutor's office in Dagestan.

- Why is Kerimkhan not in custody? I ask.

- And now we have data that other people ordered Babaev. Enemies of Kerimhan.

What am I going to? Grigory Yavlinsky found before the election time to fly to Dagestan and make a political statement at the funeral. But when it began to fall apart, neither the Yabloko party, nor Personally, Yavlinsky, never, anywhere, nothing, did not make statements.

Meanwhile, the voice of Yavlinsky decided a lot. In the republic, who has eaten bribes and murders, where anything can happen, where the head of the district in his mansion can yell “I will not give up alive!”, Where the killers are released, where the customer can enter the cell to the killer and tap him in the head so that he changes his testimony - the position of Moscow is very important.

Yavlinsky’s letter, a request to the Prosecutor General would be of great importance. I am sure that the initial zeal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - give up, hands up, now we’ll take a storm - therefore that the Ministry of Internal Affairs perceived this case as political, it thought that now there would be a shout from Moscow, that the Yabloko would begin to make statements. And only in response to the deadly silence of the party, everyone began to negotiate and ruined the case.

Farida Babaev was killed before the elections. Then Grigory Yavlinsky had time to fly to Makhachkala and say that the criticism of Putin's regime was killed. Kerimkhan Abasov was released after the election. The "Yabloko" did not find time to make at least one statement about this; But it was time to speak at the Echo of Moscow about the fact that the “echo” was not sufficiently illuminated the murder of Farid Babaev.
