Yesterday, the Union of Journalists of Russia received a message from Yabloko - the party asks to deal with the unethical behavior of Ekho Moskvy, in the opinion of the authors of the petition. As Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes, according to party members, the radio station “disseminated a number of messages that did not correspond to reality.”
The indignation of Evgenia Dillendorf and Yuri Shein, who signed the document, was caused by the comments of the radio station hosts regarding the well-known intra-party conflict. Party members did not like the interpretation of events heard on the radio related to the letter from St. Petersburg Yabloko leader Kotsyubinsky (the latter demanded the resignation of Grigory Yavlinsky). “We understand the disappointment,” Alexey Venediktov, editor-in-chief of Echo of Moscow, told NG, “that these people who are responsible for the press service of Yabloko and Grigory Yavlinsky feel. Having failed to do their job at a difficult time for the party, the signatories turn their anger against the media. They are not the first, they are not the last. They are following the path of other parties. This is normal and familiar to us.”
As Mikhail Fedotov, secretary of the Union of Journalists, explained, the complaint was sent to the wrong address: the letter was sent to the Grand Jury of the Union of Journalists, and such complaints are considered by the Public Collegium. “In 2005 or 2006, they already filed complaints with us at the Public Collegium. And now suddenly something didn’t work for them, and they forgot...” The message was sent back to the party, and Fedotov is waiting for it at the correct address. The decision of the Public Collegium of the Union of Journalists has no legal force - most likely, the side of the conflict that is found to be wrong will have to apologize. The Yabloko party's complaint is expected to be considered in June.
