Russia and Japan have begun negotiations on the possibility of visa-free tourist exchange. This was stated today at a meeting of the State Duma by the head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Vladimir Strzhalkovsky. According to the official, this will serve as a good measure to attract tourists to the Primorsky Territory. And the Japanese side is actively advocating for the implementation of the initiative, apparently hoping that Russia’s consent is nothing more than a good sign in resolving the issue of the fate of the 4 southern islands of the Kuril chain.
