One character of my childhood used the Russian language for its needs so that for me there are still symbols of the wrong speech of his three whales: "Lodges, run, do not rude." I always knew that sooner or later these words will legitimize as the only true ones. September 1, on the day of knowledge, this, in fact, happened.

The Ministry of Education by its order approved a list of four dictionaries that now contain the norms of the Russian literary language. The public realized it so that from now on we have four - and only four! - Dictionary, in which it is written, how to write, pronounce and stress in words, and everything that is fixed there is hard -stone. How often do we read dictionaries? Not often. What words are we looking for there? Rare, difficult, new, often foreign. We can’t cope in the dictionary, the word “skates” through “o” or through “a” is written. We know this from the school bench. But the order of the ministry forced many people simply to take and read the dictionary as a book.

And here it began! Because there they discovered the notorious “yogurt”, “contract” and “contract”, “spanning” and, of course, “morning coffee”. And no matter how philologists so reassured us that in dictionaries such things are found all in a nearby that dictionaries indicate all options, including infidels (sometimes not even focusing on the fact that conversational forms are not always true from an academic point of view) - the cultural people saw in all this only an abuse of the language. The abuse, emanating not from tram boors, not from the local lumpen, but from academicians! Unable to defeat illiteracy, they, they say, just surrendered to her!

And citizens began to anticipate the legitimization of the words “kilometers”, “call”, “lies”, “tubre” and many others used by millions of compatriots. And this fact, by the way, is considered almost the main basis for drinking morning coffee legally. And the indignant remnants of the intelligentsia in response noticed that the language is a habitat. And if someone loses her, then this is not a reason to bless such people. Many Russians spit on asphalt, throw cigarette butts past the urn, shit in the porches, break their benches, beat glass and bottles. There are thousands of such, millions - let's go to the meeting and will not interfere with the rooted standards! In the end, they just swear obscenely everyone - why subject it to censorship?

But I, sharing righteous anger, still want to draw your attention to the weekend data. Because not everyone paid attention to them. Meanwhile, this is curious. All four books were published by AST-Press. Thus, we received not only the reference dictionaries, but also the reference publishing house. If I am not mistaken, the same people who have lost their income from Cherkizon. Losses need to be compensated for at least a little. There are many dictionaries, and there are many publishers. But somehow, only one publishing house receives the right to print dictionaries, which he himself offers the ministry. And I would be curious to find out the decision -making mechanism. Why these dictionaries? Why exactly "AST-Press"? After all, these four volumes - to put it mildly, not everything that is in a vocabulary. And it’s not even about Dahl, Rosental, Ushakov and Ozhegov, who have been considered samples without any orders for decades. The list does not, for example, of the explanatory dictionary, the dictionary of foreign words, the reference books on punctuation and spelling - but there are many things in this list.

When four books are approved by order, it creates a clear feeling that this is all that is nothing better and nothing will happen else. The ministry tried to clumsily explain that the work is being carried out, that the list would be replenished. But when to replenish than and by what principle, it is not clear at all. Then why was it so in a hurry? Language is living matter, it changes, but still not as fast as exchange quotes. Prepare everything from the beginning to the end, carry out an intelligent explanatory work, arrange a scientific discussion - and release. And now, in addition to suspicions regarding officials so selectively asserting the products of a particular publishing house, citizens have a very definite attitude towards four dictionaries - as a garbage, anti -Etalon, and to the authors (quite respected, by the way, to specialists) - as a splating.
