The Proeconomics telegram channel writes about why Poland has become the leader in economic growth in the European Union over the past three years:
“Poland accepted the most Ukrainian refugees - 1.6 million people. And this factor plays the growth of the country's economy. According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the additional growth of GDP in Poland from the labor influx of labor can be about 1.2 percentage points per year. According to Credit Agricole, the influx of refugees to Poland has become the main factor in the growth of retail sales, especially clothes and shoes, furniture, household and electrical engineering.
Interestingly, the influx of refugees did not affect unemployment in Poland. According to the Eurostat, the unemployment rate is currently 2.7% (lower than in Russia). ”
