Russian Stanford

Rector of the Academy Plekhanov Vitaly Vidyapin sent a letter to Vladimir Putin with a request to allow his university to change its form of management - to turn a state institution into an autonomous organization with a private co-founder. The head of the Basic Element holding, Oleg Deripaska, is ready to become a partner of the academy. Vidyapin plans to create “a real Western university – not Oxford, but Stanford”, attract young teachers, build a real university campus: a sports palace, a cinema, boutiques and hairdressers.
