Deputies passed the next bill in the first reading. They propose to toughen penalties for match-fixing and other types of corruption in sports. I read this news and remembered the old arithmetic rule: multiplication by zero gives zero. Even if you multiply it by a hundred, even by a thousand, even by a million. In the entire history of observations, I don’t remember that anyone has ever been punished for fixing matches or bribing sports referees. I don't remember at all. Zero! So what difference does it make how large the fine or sentence is if no one is punished anyway?
