Based on a tip from those already arrested on charges of attack on Nalchik, law enforcement agencies of Kabardino-Balkaria detained a former prisoner of the American military base at Guantanamo Bay, Rasul Kudaev. He admitted that he participated in the terrorist attack on October 13. However, the chairman of the Islamic Committee of Russia, Heydar Dzhemal, claims that the confession was forced out of Kudaev by force: according to him, the physical condition of the accused is such that he has difficulty even moving around his own home.
