The exhibition "Process" at the Black design factory is reconstruction.
Artists do not reconstruct the events of the second process over Khodorkovsky and Lebedev, but the very way of functioning of Russian justice, the atmosphere of what is happening.
The viscosity, drearyness and absurdity of the judicial procedure was recorded by literary geniuses - Franz Kafka, Leo Tolstoy, Fedor Dostoevsky. But from the meaningless, seemingly events, quite serious consequences follow. Those who haunt the hero of Kafka Joseph K. have a goal. And they achieve it. The system lives according to the laws of its own logic, not always understandable to a person from the outside. This was written by Mikhail Khodorkovsky in the article "Legal" violence. "
When the word “process” sounds in Russia today, two names immediately pop up in the mind - Khodorkovsky and Lebedev. That is why the documentary basis for the exhibition was the process of the process reflected in the comics of the artist Alexander Kotlyarov, which were published weekly on the website of the "Daily Journal" .
The artist Alexander Kotlyarov and the curator of the exhibition Anton Litvin created a multimedia installation, where the heroes were not specific actors, but the images of the process participants, prosecutors, lawyers, witnesses, defendants. The viewer falls into the space of a strange and powerful ritual, which least of all resembles a legal act.
