On August 2, another rally took place in defense of the Khimki forest, which ended in arrests. About 50 people gathered; they wanted to go to the work site. But five minutes later the police appeared. Left Front activists Sergei Udaltsov and Konstantin Kosyakin, and other protesters were taken to the second police department in Khimki. Yabloko leader Sergei Mitrokhin arrived there.

Mitrokhin was later sentenced by a magistrate court to a 500-ruble fine for disobeying a police officer and organizing an unauthorized rally in defense of the Khimki forest on Starbeevsky Field. The court decision stated that Mitrokhin organized an unauthorized rally. At the same time, the operational filming attached to the case only showed Mitrokhin getting into a police car. But the court refused to add the video recording of the arrest made by Yabloko to the case. In addition, the judge did not take into account the testimony of the defenders of the Khimki Forest, while the police officers who spoke in court were called “disinterested persons.”
