The former abbot of the Assumption Cathedral of the Trifonov Monastery, Archpriest Peter Shak, was buried at the end of last week as a layman, after a civilian panichid in the Kirovsky Cabric of Tsiolkovsky, without a funeral service and “proper honors”. Father Peter committed suicide - this was finally established by the examination. Thousands of Kirov residents - Foyy DK, the site in front of him and the sidewalk of the nearby October Prospekt came to say goodbye to him were scored to capacity.
Father Peter held the position of rector of the Holy Assumption Cathedral of the Trifon Monastery since 1992. In April 2011, the new archbishop of Vyatka and Sloboda Mark removed him from ministry in this capacity, after which Father Peter was listed on sick leave. No wonder: after the resignation, the priest suffered a heart attack for a long time in intensive care. And now he hanged himself. The Patriarchate sent a commission to Kirov to understand. But it is already clear that the new archbishop of triumph “walked” through all the large temples of the city, removing the old honored priests from the work of the old, and putting “their own” in their places. In an interview with the GTRK-Vyatka, he said so frankly and said that any person would prefer to surround himself with “those people with whom he will work more fruitfully ... This is a normal process. When there is an understanding of a particular issue, it is solved faster. ”
“Their” priests, possibly no less well-deserved than the old Vyatka ones, just believe that all the dismissed are convicted “in serious financial and economic violations, and sometimes crimes” (the words of Archbishop Mark from the same interview) is quite difficult. Or it should be recognized that the Russian Church is a gang of thieves.
The main word here is “serious”, minor violations are in almost all temples, where, according to tradition, there are “black cash desks” that help to slightly increase the official (that is, those from which taxes are paid) salaries of people working in the church-regents, singers, cooks, teachers of Sunday schools, etc. Of course, if the archbishop of Mark decided to fight for the complete transparency of the church budget, then only such fundamentalness can welcome. But something I doubt that the lord is ready to be guided by the same principles in his management of the diocese. In any case, we have not yet seen the complete financial statements of the Vyatka department. So the intentions emerge rather corruption and bureaucratic: with “their own” resolving issues is easier and faster. So chips fly ...
To all the troubles of Father Peter, they asked to free the official apartment, where he lived with his wife and two sons (the priest-executive did not have his own housing). In blogs they write that those who came with sad news were asked to pay 1,000,000 rubles. For each year of residence in an office apartment. They also write that the results of the work of the new team of Archbishop Mark are already felt in the life of the city with might and main: prices for baptism and funeral service, prayers and memorial services have increased. Previously, the grandmother could submit a note about the repose for 10-15 rubles, and as much as 100! "This is a shock!" - the blogger is horrified.
The Orthodox community is outraged and indignant, but the “trend” was indicated for a long time, even when the Moscow Patriarchate headed for the split of the Surozh diocese-also to a very large extent from mercantile reasons: in the struggle for the building of the temple, once bought by an emigrant community for money collected in the susks, literally from the last forces. The emigrants of the “New Wave”, dissatisfied with the order in the diocese (women go without scarves, and they pray for the non-Orthodox, and the priests are wrong), and thoughts did not allow that they can raise money in the same way (and among them there is a very wealthy people, they say that almost Deripaska) and build (or buy) their building. Why buy or build if you can pick up? After all, the Sourozh diocese is part of the Moscow Patriarchate, which means that the building of the temple belongs to the Moscow Patriarchate. And they took it. “The old people” who are not ready to come to terms with such injustice now wandering around other temples, where they were allocated a corner and make it possible to carry out services in line with local parishes.
Or the Holy Nicolaev Cathedral in Nice, for which Russia has been sued with the Orthodox Association of Nice for several years. The cathedral was built by Emperor Nicholas II on Earth, bought by the imperial office and after the nationalized revolution. This, in fact, gave Russia the right to put to the cathedral. But since the 1920s, the Orthodox Association of Nice, which is part of the jurisdiction of the Archbishopic of Orthodox Russian churches in Western Europe (Constantinople Patriarchate), has completely contained the cathedral and completely contained the cathedral (again on meager emigrant money). The term of free lease has expired on December 31, 2007, and Russia returned its own, as it believes, the Orthodox Association, however, intends to apply for a cassation). Now the government is going to transfer the temple of the Russian Orthodox Church, and it is not known how the fate of the parish community and its priests will develop.
Many Orthodox are approved with the return of “their property”, not taking into account the feelings and consideration of people without whom this “their property” simply would not have been. In the first case, the emigrant community bought the building, in the second - 80 years maintained it in working condition without the slightest assistance of Russia, and how to know what would happen to the cathedral if there was no lease for it. But in both cases, infrastructure interests outweighed a human attitude.
Or take scandals with “religious property” in Russia itself, when museums, if they do not throw from church buildings to the street, are pushed through the attics and basements, and monasteries are driven from the “security territories” of people who lived to them all their lives ... What is now surprised that the infrastructure remains for effective church managers much more important, than a person?
