A reprise of a classic, Soviet-era anecdote about a dialogue at a newsstand sounded like this: “There is no Pravda, Izvestia has not arrived, there is Trud for two kopecks...”

But times have changed, and just now on the plane, in response to my question about magazines, the flight attendant snapped:

- There is nothing but “Power”!
