Useful and entertaining applications and special projects for the Olympics

TJournal has collected several applications and special projects, useful and simply entertaining, dedicated to the Olympic Games in Sochi.

Two official mobile applications of the Sochi Games. The “Guide” is intended for viewers who are directly in Sochi: with its help you can navigate the objects and build a route. “Results” are designed for prompt notification of news and achievements of the national team of the country specified in the settings. It also contains the Games schedule.

Both applications can be installed on smartphones running iOS, Android, Windows or BlackBerry OS.

Yandex.Medals

An application from Yandex for smartphones on iOS and Android , with simple functionality: every time an athlete from the national team specified in the country’s settings wins one of the three Olympic medals, it will send a notification in the form of the sound of a rolling medal, and will also show a photo of the athlete with a brief information about it and the current medal standings. The choice of country is limited to a list of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

At the time of publication of the selection, the application, accurate to seconds, counts down the time remaining until the opening ceremony of the Games.

Olympic project launched by W→O→S and TJournal for Megafon. TJournal robots select and analyze, and WOS robots distribute over 50 thousand posts from Twitter and Instagram per day on the map.

Official gaming application Sochi-2014 "VKontakte". This is a simulation game in which the player is asked to build an Olympic village from scratch, train athletes, organize competitions, develop infrastructure and attract tourists from all over the world.

An application as part of a special project between VKontakte and the International Olympic Committee: with its help you can watch photos from social networks published with the tags #Olympiad or #olympics and broadcast in Live Sites fan zones throughout the country.

The VKontakte application from the official sponsor of the Sochi 2014 relay. With its help, you can find yourself in one of the panoramic photographs among the people who came to greet the torchbearers, tag and share the find on your social network page.
