The investigative team in the case of the murder of famous journalist Anna Politkovskaya is considering three main versions of what happened. As Kommersant reports, the main versions of the journalist’s murder included: revenge of police officers who, after Politkovskaya’s publications, found themselves in prison or on the wanted list, a conspiracy by opponents of Vladimir Putin and Chechen Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov, as well as revenge of former militants who went over to the side of federal forces.
