A Muscovite woman pretended to be the editor of Afisha in order to eat in restaurants for free.
On October 14, the editor-in-chief of the Afisha-City publication, Ekaterina Dementyeva, spoke on her Facebook page about a certain Olga Bubnenkova: according to her, the woman ate for free in Moscow restaurants, promising “a spread in Afisha” for the services provided.
TJournal spoke with both sides of the conflict.

The fact that a certain Olga Bubnenkova uses the guise of an Afisha employee to obtain various benefits became known from a letter received by the editor. In it, a member of the restaurant’s PR team, whose name the editor-in-chief of Gorod chose to omit, complained about an “irresponsible” employee of the publication who had not fulfilled his obligations.
Olga Bubnenkova introduced herself as the editor of Afisha.ru, was invited to this event as a guest, for whom a menu and full restaurant service were organized, after which Olga promised a detailed publication about the restaurant and the chef [..] on the Afisha.ru portal and a spread in the printed publication "Afisha". According to this agreement, on our part, we fulfilled all obligations; Olga, a couple of days after receiving the post-release and photographs, confirmed the publication of the publication. Then she informed us about the impossibility of implementing this agreement due to her dismissal from the Afisha.ru team. There was no further assistance from her in resolving the situation. From a letter to the editor of Afisha
In her entry, Dementieva said that she found Bubnenkova’s page on VKontakte and invited her to a tasting at the restaurant, but she stated that she no longer worked at Afisha.
More than two thousand photographs have been published on Bubnenkova’s profile, most of which were taken at various social events, including press screenings of films and openings of cafes and restaurants. The woman refers several times to the production center RINO LENS, which, as she indirectly confirmed herself, is her place of work.
When asked by TJournal to comment on Dementieva’s post, Bubnenkova refused, but with the very wording she confirmed that it was about her.
Good afternoon I do not comment in any way on all the stories that are published about me. Olga Bubnenkova
As Ekaterina Dementyeva told TJournal, after an unsuccessful attempt to invite Bubnenkova to a tasting, she openly invited her to talk about herself for the Afisha material and received the expected refusal.
After the restaurant’s PR department confronted Bubnenkova with complaints, she replied that she was moving “to freelance work in a magazine” and would work on her projects for the production center RINO LENS. As Dementieva noted, the woman actively misled the representatives of the institution, saying that the non-existent “chief producing editor” went on a month’s vacation, and the printed version of “Afisha” completely abandoned a certain “post-report format” (the author's spelling was preserved).
At the same time, representatives of the restaurant assumed that in exchange for Bubnenkova’s service, Afisha would publish a text supposedly from the editors, but written by the establishment’s PR department. The “review” received by TJournal was written in a purely advertising format and does not contain criticism.
At the conclusion of her post, the editor-in-chief of “Gorod” added that the editorial spread of “Afisha” is not for sale in principle, and the advertising one “costs much, much more than even the best service,” and suggested not “feeding impostors for free.”
In addition, she told TJournal about a similar case in St. Petersburg, when a quiet man with glasses, about 35 years old, introduced himself as a journalist from Afisha and thus settled for two days in a room at a yet-to-be-opened hotel overlooking Nevsky Prospekt. According to Dementieva, he was repeatedly seen at various social events taking place in the city.
Audacity second happiness,
