Anonymous leaflets on behalf of relatives of policemen killed in Dagestan began to be distributed in Makhachkala on September 4. They say that since the authorities of the republic are unable to fight extremism, the relatives themselves will avenge those who have passed away and fight for the future of their children. Moreover, among the 250 people whom the relatives are going to take revenge on are “so-called human rights activists, duty lawyers and tame journalists, some of whom are published under pseudonyms on extremist websites, while others heroize them on the pages of newspapers,” the Caucasian Knot website quotes the leaflet. Among these sixteen people are the director of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Dagestan" Sulaiman Uladiev, the founder of the newspaper "Chernovik" Gadzhimurad Kamalov. Human rights activists, lawyers and journalists mentioned in the leaflets plan to organize a picket in the main square of Makhachkala. On September 8, a press conference “Firing List of Sixteen. What is happening in Dagestan?”, after which the human rights activists, lawyers and journalists included in the list will one by one go out to the square with a poster “Are you waiting for me and Dagestan to be killed?”
The leaflets also say that on August 23, “a sentence was put into effect to execute a group of bandits involved in terrorist attacks and murders of law enforcement officers and civilians.” We are talking about Artur Butaev, Gadzhi Gunashev and Emiraslan Islamov, who were kidnapped that day - the bodies allegedly belonging to them were found on August 26. Arsen Butaev and Islam Askerov were kidnapped along with them and managed to escape. The leaflets say that the five "planted a bomb under a passenger train in the area of the 1000 Little Things crossing." It is alleged that the avengers “deliberately gave Arsen Butaev and Islam Askerov the opportunity to leave so that they would tell everyone about our existence.”
