While people were having fun during the holidays, Father Vsevolod Chaplin was working on issues of Russian national security. As a person in charge of relations with society in the patriarchy, he naturally could not help but think first of all about him, who is suffering irreparable damage from “network hamsters” who can only swear on the Internet, but are unable to find a real application for their strengths. Father Vsevolod found a job for them. In anticipation of Christmas, as a man and a Christian, he shared his thoughts with the Russian News Service. Here are brief excerpts from his interview:
I think that the government, if it does not want to be chewed up by “hamsters,” and the people, if they do not want to feed someone else’s army and someone else’s business, should think very seriously today together, through a dialogue between the authorities and the people, about how the life of the country should develop , what vector should our politics, our economy, our public life have. /.../
I think we need to think today about Russia’s powerful military presence in all regions where people are asking for protection from orange experiments, from various kinds of “color revolutions.” Even if Russia needs to take part in hostilities, there is no need to be afraid of this today: the army must finally be given real work. Network “hamsters” could easily be sent to active troops. Those of them who survive will probably become human. /.../
We have now sent ships to the shores of Syria - this is good, but this should be just the beginning.
...At least the entire male element of our people must participate in these actions... /.../
You know, I have enough authority to formulate positions that relate to the official attitude of the Church to certain political and social issues, and this position is official. But in this case, this is, of course, a personal text, and I said directly: maybe that’s why I published it on the holidays. This is my contribution as a priest, a Christian, a person to the discussion that is going on today.
