The teachers of the Trinity Gymnasium named after the project of the Cansat in Russia . N.V. Pushkova Tatyana Biryukova and Elena Soldatova , whom we, together with their students , met at the Institute of Cosmic Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In 2011, our school got acquainted with the Cansat championship. In the month of February, employees of the NIIIF MSU invited several schoolchildren from Moscow and Troitsk to take part in the Norwegian championship for the launch of school microsstatellites. The team was collected, and the "crazy" days began! Indeed, in a very short time (the championship was held in early May), the guys and their mentors had to get acquainted with the designer, come up with additional missions, program the device and make a salvation system.
Not everyone withstood such a race, and as a result, only two girls from our gymnasium and student MSTU named after Bauman went to Norway on the shores of the Arctic Ocean to launch their little satellite. It was a very interesting journey, colorful, memorable for life. The Russian team (guys from Troitsk, Peter and Kazan) took 2nd place at the championship. And the enthusiastic stories of participants expressed adults to organize in our space power their national championship in launching school microsnetics.
What is Cansat? Rather, what is Cansat in Russian? The first championship of Russia was held in 2012 in the city of Kaluga. The guys from Arkhangelsk, Samara, Kazan, Peter, Moscow, Yakutia, Kaluga, Minsk and, of course, we, from Troitsk, arrived at the championship.
The team consists of three students and one team leader. In order to take part in the championship, the guys need:
Satellite dimensions: weight - not more than 400 g (along with the salvation system); Cylinder dimensions: height - 220 mm, diameter - 64 mm. Pepsi Bank. Hence the English -speaking name of the competition - "Sputnik in a canbone".
A little more about the designer. It consists of three boards: a board with pressure and temperature sensors, the processor board and the transmitter board. All! It is necessary to breathe life into this piece of iron, to force to work. And this is the most interesting!
The championship consists of two stages. The first, qualifying, takes place in the winter at Moscow State University. A strict jury evaluates the ideas of the children, their fulfillment and independence; Those who go through a strict selection come with their devices in the summer to Dubna.
The championship is expanding every year, not only from the point of view of the geography of the participants, but the format of the championship itself changes. The guys who successfully passed the first championship entered the Premier League - the weight of the “banks” up to one kilogram, their own, but the main mission is more complicated: the deferment of the parachute release and the readings of the magnetometer. And this year, new directions were added: the development of their rocket for the regular league; The scientific load on the copter to detect forest fires and the most interesting - climb on the probe to a height of up to 30 km!

What gives the guys this project? Meetings with interesting people, career guidance, the ability to work in a team, the ability to present their results, plus additional knowledge of physics, electronics, computer science ... And the guys can test their strength.
The championship is the championship, there are winners and losers, but, oddly enough, the Kansatovites have no competition, they all worry about each other, help, sympathize. If the satellite of any team is lost, then everyone rushes to look for him.
The guys who have passed the championship do not leave Cansat orbits, being students (mainly technical universities), become volunteers at the championship, help in organizing the championship, are heads of school teams.
About the scientific advisers: we have been participating in the championship for four years and are not going to stop, but it is impossible for the school teacher to fully lead the Cansat team, so our gymnasium collaborates with our chef - Izmin. We are lucky, we have an excellent scientific leader - Dmitry Lisin! It helps the children to understand electronics, and programming, and in psychology. We also want to say thanks to A.N. Zaitsev, who helped the guys with antenna. We have another “older brother” - this is the Institute of Cosmic Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Iki employees not only helped the guys in creating the corps and developing additional missions, but also came to launches. We want to say a lot thanks to Maxim Markichev, Roman Bessonov and Mikhail Veselov.
Evgeny Sevastyanov,
11th grade, gymnasium named after N.V. Pushkova :
For the first time I found myself on Cansat during the science festival at Moscow State University. I was just asked to speak, but this fundamentally changed my life. The championship made it clear to me how much potential was concluded in each of its participants, including myself, and how this potential can be revealed.
Vivid impressions, acquaintance with the smartest people of our country, many new friends and knowledge - this is a small fraction of what I received from this project. Every week I was impatiently fled to the Izmiraran to engage in our “brainchild”-a microsatnik for the Cansat championship, which the flight of which during the launches convinced all of us that there is nothing better than creating anything with my own hands and seeing how it works.
During festivals and conferences, we introduced other schoolchildren to our work, developing our skills in expressions of our thoughts. The launches themselves turned into an exciting adventure that gives skills in everything, starting from programming, ending with the ability to argue their position during pre -protection and final protection of the project.
