How will events in Ukraine and in the world affect your field of science? On its development in Russia? Will international scientific relations be preserved?

Alexey Ivanov , Dokt. Geol.-Min. Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences:
Colleagues from abroad with Russian and non-Russian citizenship, with which we worked before, confirm the willingness to cooperate in the future. However, right now, until everything is normalized, of course, there can be no visits to each other, it is difficult to even just exchange data. Naturally, in Russia, a disaster is expected to have analytical research on our own equipment, which will work exactly until the stocks of consumables and components are preserved. Firms are already experiencing serious supply problems.
There are direct prohibitions, and an unpredictable ruble course. International magazines, at least Elsevier , confirm that there will be no restrictions on the articles of Russian authors formally. But selectively, the policy of discrimination of Russian authors is already going on. At the official level, a number of foreign scientific societies introduced prohibitions on joint projects. In general, it all depends on how soon and how it all ends and what it will lead inside Russia.
