Presidential candidate Mikhail Kasyanov is sure that during the election campaign he will not be granted an equal access to the media with other candidates. He stated this on Tuesday at a press conference, the Grani.ru correspondent reports.
“We have started preparing an election campaign and meetings in the regions,” Kasyanov said. “We understand that we will not be provided with airtime in the same volume as the candidate from the authorities.”
Kasyanov, however, said that he was preparing for the debate and expects to take part in them a candidate from United Russia Dmitry Medvedev. “We are counting on it,” the ex -prime minister emphasized.
He is also sure that if he is provided with air on state television channels, he will be able to change public opinion in the country in a very short time.
If during the presidential campaign, Kasyanov said, "the same thing will happen as in the December elections, we will fight the deceit and usurpation of power."
To the question of journalists, whether the CEC can refuse to register, recognizing more than five percent of the signatures submitted for him, Kasyanov replied that "he was generally giving such a turn of events." “The best specialists in the country are sitting and checking signatures,” he emphasized.
Kasyanov said to collect signatures, "a little more than seven million rubles were spent." Most collectors, according to him, are RDS activists and worked for free.
At the moment, 2.22 million signatures have been collected (the last 20 thousand were brought the day before late in the evening). They will be fed to the CEC on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
