The Supreme Court left a lifetime sentence to the former employee of the Yukos Security Service Alexei Pichugin, convicted on charges of murders and assassination assassinations, RIA Novosti reports.
Thus, the court rejected the cassation appeal of the lawyers of Pichugin, in which they asked for the sentence to cancel, and to terminate the criminal case.
On August 6, 2007, the Moscow City Court found Pichugin guilty of organizing three murders and four assassination murders.
This is the second conviction against Pichugin. Earlier, the Moscow City Court on the basis of the jury verdict sentenced Pichugin to 20 years in prison, finding him guilty of the murder of two people, as well as organizing an assassination attempt on the former head of the Department of Public Relations of the Moscow City Hall, the ex-adviser of the former head of Yukos, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Olga Kostin in November 1998.
Pichugin completely denies his guilt.
