So far everything is going smoothly

Co-chairman of the United Democratic Movement "Solidarity" Boris Nemtsov can now be considered an officially nominated candidate for the post of mayor of Sochi. He received documents from the local election commission allowing him to open an election account, Solidarity spokeswoman Olga Shorina told the Daily Journal. Now Nemtsov, having opened an account with Sberbank, can begin transferring the election deposit. According to Shorina, at the election commission building, oddly enough, no one except journalists met them, and there were no provocations from the Kremlin.

Today, in addition to Nemtsov, three people have officially declared their desire to run for the post of mayor of Sochi: local businessman Pavel Emelyanenko, military pensioner Sergei Bernasovsky and General Director of Russian Airline Erlen OJSC Nikolai Kuznetsov. The Communists (the leader of the local branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Yuri Dzagania, who already participated in the previous mayoral elections) and the Liberal Democratic Party have already announced their intention to nominate their candidates.
