Unity is not a reason

On March 28, the Russian Embassy in Minsk sent a note to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry with a request for assistance in considering the issue of early release of Russians. A wish was expressed that they would be released early in connection with the celebration of the “Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus” on April 2. But Belarus ignored the request; four Russian citizens are still under arrest. They were detained on March 24 in Minsk during an unauthorized rally, and their sentences expire at the end of this week.
