The Dubai police, who have already arrested two suspects in the murder of Sulim Yamadayev, suspect, among others, Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov. Police Chief General Dahi Khalfan Tamim said that Delimkhanov, along with three other suspects, would be put on the Interpol wanted list, Kommersant writes on April 6. According to the Constitution, Russia cannot extradite Duma deputies. Meanwhile, General Tamim called Delimkhanov “the man who organized the murder of Sulim Yamadayev” and stated that “there can be no immunity for those who order, plan and organize the commission of murders.”
Before being elected to the Duma, Delimkhanov worked as Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic (the Chairman of the Government was then the current President of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov). He called the statement of the Dubai police a provocation. Kommersant recalls that Delimkhanov’s name has already surfaced in connection with the murder in Moscow in 2006 of the former commander of the FSB special squad “Highlander” Movladi Baysarov.
