We who write about politics are unhappy people. Because we write about what is not. Because what is is not politics. We write about the presidential election, although there are no longer there. In extreme cases, there may be the choice of the president, but not an election.

To everything that is meant by this concept, three years. So many. Even in America, where the elections are the greatest in the world, the race does not start three years before the indicated deadline. And in Russia, where a popularly beloved president can be made by the most ordinary, unknown person in six months, there is not a single reason to start so early. Nevertheless, as if the election, as it were, the race, as it were, started. In skiers, this is called “mass start”, that is, when they run the whole bunch. So we have a desire to settle in the Kremlin at once several Russians.

But to discuss it seriously! Well, Kasyanov is good. This is a serious candidate. But he is serious except for some Limonov. And so what happened? The former prime minister, who has never been popularly beloved by the people only among a certain part of the ladies of Balzakov’s age, he did not even say directly that he would go to the polls, he just “did not exclude” the possibility. Well, yes. In our life, nothing needs to be excluded. And how else could he answer a question from the hall? No, I won't go? Why? Why burn bridges in advance?

Everyone attacked Kasyanov so because in the presidential sense he is an unnecessary figure. But as it was behind him the nickname “Two percent”, so about the same will vote for him. Kasyanov is not an alternative, not the leader of the Democrats (by the way, another ridiculous idea), this is crucian carp, which is on the bezbier pike. The rest are at all sturgeon of the second freshness.

It is clear that neither Seleznev, nor Zhirinovsky, without a special disposal, will neither put forward nor remove. They are even in our “mass start” in the role of a crowd. The illegitimate evil clown from the LDPR himself, no matter how offensive to him, is just consumable. At the right time, such people will create the appearance of tension in the struggle, simulate democracy, and insure in case: so that only one candidate will not suddenly remain in the list due to failures. A similar role awkwardly, absurdly played in the last elections of Mironov with his inimitable thesis, about how a leader goes into battle and you need to cover it. It is unlikely that candidates can participate in normal elections whose election program is that they love another candidate, their competitor. And we have as much as you like. And each has its own role: some play the role of the adherks of the leader, others play the role of his irreconcilable opponents. Both those and others do badly.

In addition to the candidates of fake, candidates like the elusive Joe, which no one needs. They say that Grigory Alekseich stubbornly continues to believe in his star, although he and Kasyanovsky would achieve two percent. There is Zyuganov, who is “Lenin Today”, only no one is going to put Gennady Andreyich in the car and fill him, which means that there will be no armored car at the station.

Those who are in search of at least someone from somewhere, only so that Putin will be happy to vote even for the not existing character like a single candidate from the 2008 committee. And there is also Khodorkovsky on the bunks. Despite the fact that no one knows what political views and what is the essence of his concept. So far, we just see a person who is robbed. But this is not a reason to choose him in the president!

I even heard about the completely fantastic idea to persuade Boris Nikolayich to run. In the best years, Yeltsin would overshadow Putin as there is nothing to do! And not the best years of Yeltsin, as it turned out, were not the worst. And it would be ridiculous if Putin in the Kremlin now handed over a nuclear suitcase embarrassing Yeltsin with the words “Take care of Russia”. The more serious they talk about such options, the stupid they look.

The actual alternative to Putin for today is one - Putin himself. The day will come, and he or the collective mind that stands behind him will decide who is nicer in the world, everyone is bright and whiter. Or he will decide that there is no one whiter to the current president, and he will figure out how to make sure, without changing power, to maintain at least some visibility of the change.
