In the courtroom, the defendants in the so-called Khudyakov case, accused of shooting civilians in Chechnya, were taken into custody. These are officers of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Evgeny Khudyakov and Sergey Arakcheev. The court considered the arguments of the state prosecution that the officers exerted and are exerting pressure on witnesses sufficient, Interfax reports. In addition, the decision was influenced by the fact that Khudyakov did not appear at one of the preliminary hearings. Previously, the jury twice returned an acquittal.
