Two State Duma deputies, Alexei Zhuravlev and Sergei Zhigarev, prepared amendments to the federal laws “On the procedure for leaving and entering the Russian Federation” and “On the legal status of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation,” which are designed to combat illegal labor migration into the country.
At the initiative of the deputies, all foreigners entering the country from countries with a visa-free regime with Russia will have to purchase a migration bill for 30 thousand rubles.
“A migration bill - a registered interest-free treasury bill - will be purchased by a foreign citizen who arrived in Russia in a manner that does not require a visa, in order to ensure solvency in the event of his deportation. Being an unconditional financial obligation, it will be subject to repayment when the foreign citizen leaves the Russian Federation" , says the bill.
Among other things, this measure, according to deputies, will be able to provide the budget with additional revenues in the amount of 225 billion rubles per year.
