Day of Alexei Gaskarov
Born June 18, 1985
Status : suspect
Location : IVS GUVD Moscow (Petrovka, 38)
Lawyer : Svetlana Sidorkina
The famous anti -fascist, defender of the Khimkinsky and Tsagovsky forests. He became a public activist, barely graduating from the school, in addition to participating in the actions of the anti -fascist movement in his native Moscow Region Zhukovsky, he helped organize a film club, where they showed tapes on a social topic.
In 2007, Gaskarov graduated from the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation. He wrote materials for the Public Institute "Collective Action", which illuminates the activities of social movements in Russia. Since 2011, Alexei worked as a leading consultant at the Expert Systems LLC, where he conducted several projects at once. His work colleague personally appeared in the Basmanny Court to give a positive description of Gaskarov and ask not to detain him.
The operatives “took” Gaskarov on April 28 on Zhukovsky Street when he went to the store. First, he was brought to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for interrogation as a witness in the case of "riots" on Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012. But, as the lawyer of Alexei Svetlana Sidorkina said, soon two classified witnesses recognized her client as a person who led a certain group of persons who committed illegal actions on May 6 last year, and also performed such actions personally, preventing the police, detain the participants in the rally.
According to Sidorkina, the practice of attracting classified witnesses is applied if the investigation implies the presence of a threat to their life and health. The real names of such witnesses do not appear in the case file, it is not even known whether they are policemen or civilians.
The material about the detention of Alexei on the website of the Investigative Committee also speaks of videos allegedly proving his guilt.
Thus, Alexei became the 28th “Prisoner of May 6” (the 29th person involved in the case is the ex-head of the Georgian Parliament Committee on Defense and Security Givi Targamadze).
Suspicious of committing crimes under Art. 212 h. 2 (participation in the riots) and 318 h. 1 (application of violence in relation to representatives of the authorities) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Most listeners and journalists who came to the Basmanny Court were surprised by the information certificate attached to the investigation from the Center for Combating Extremism. It follows from it that Gaskarov is the leader of the Antifa left -propelled movement, which, together with other left -and -radical movements, such as the “Left Front” and “Left Socialist Action”, planned and carried out direct action aimed at destabilizing the political situation in Russia. Alexei himself remembered that according to the same delusional certificate he was taken into custody in 2010.
In July 2010, he was already detained-for a demonstrative protest of 300 anti-fascists at the administration of the city of Khimki against the cut of the Khimkinsky forest. Gaskarov spent several months in jail, but as a result of the campaign of solidarity with the “Khimki hostages” he was fully justified and later achieved compensation through the court.
Alexei himself, according to his lawyer, connects his detention with the upcoming major action on May 6.
On May 28, 2012, Gaskarov appealed to the UK with a statement about the beating of riot police on the march of millions on May 6. During the mass detentions, the activist asked the riot police: “What are you doing?” In response, he was struck with a rubber club on the face, after which, throwing to the ground, they began to beat their feet. Gaskarov received cut his head wounds and almost lost consciousness. In the emergency room of Zhukovsky, the doctors left him three seams. According to Gaskarov SK, a check was carried out, which did not establish anything, including the fault of Alexei.
Last fall, Alexei Gaskarov entered the coordination council of the opposition, winning the elections on the “Left Curia”.
On April 29, the Basmanny Court of the capital ruled that Alexei Gaskarov will spend the next two months in prison. Judge Irina Skuridina considered that the under investigation can hide or affect the witnesses of the process, even though they are, as you know, classified.
