The price of an obstacle

On January 14 in Moscow, near the Chistye Prudy metro station, at the monument to Griboyedov, a rally against dishonest elections was held, organized by the Yabloko party. As former party member and journalist Irek Murtazin wrote in his blog, the police set up fences in such a way that the direct passage from the metro to the monument was closed and people had to go around the barriers almost a kilometer away. The rally was announced for 300 people, according to various sources, from 350 to 600 came. At the end of the rally, party leader Sergei Mitrokhin was detained, who, according to the police, was moving the barriers. The magistrate's court considered that Mitrokhin committed an act of disobedience to the legal demands of the police officers, but sentenced him not to time in a special detention center, as the majority under this article, but to a fine of one thousand rubles. The court rejected Mitrokhin's request to question witnesses.
