The case of the ex-chief of intelligence of the Airborne Forces, Colonel Pavel Popovskikh, accused of involvement in the murder of Kholodov, was closed due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. However, the Prosecutor General's Office stated that he was found guilty by the court of exceeding official powers and therefore does not have the right to rehabilitation and compensation for moral and material damage, which he demanded through the court. Realizing that he would not receive financial compensation, Popovskikh demanded that the state prosecutor personally apologize to him on the air of the Vremya program.
