 In the opposition Alternative
If I understand correctly, Viktor Gerashchenko is ready to become an opposition candidate in the presidential election. Perhaps even a candidate one. In addition, people so significant in opposition circles, such as Kasparov or Delyagin, quite seriously spoke of his candidacy. If this is true, if Viktor Vladimirovich is our “alternative”, then this, of course, is sad. Just sad. And the more serious such an alternative is discussed (i.e., with weighing all the chances, determining the specific ways of its promotion, calculating interest), the more sad.
In principle, this is not so important who will become an opposition candidate, whether he will be one, or there will be many of them, or will not be at all. Because it is obvious: even the most beautiful candidate has no chance in the fight against the successor or with Putin himself, if he suddenly made us happy with a third term. Citizens-collectors simply do not know anything about such a candidate. In an extreme case, federal channels will ironically shake it ironically in their “analytical” programs and this will be limited to this.
However, the practical meaninglessness of the struggle does not mean that it should not be conducted. That is why the candidacy of the opposition applicant is so important, and that is why, having heard about Gerashchenko, I did not know whether to cry or laugh. Because such a candidate means only one thing means: in addition to protest, desperate, courageous, risky, we have nothing to offer and nobody. Unfortunately. To a huge, loud regret.
Who is Victor Vladimirovich? He is a very interesting person, with a good sense of humor, a sharp mind and even more acute language. At our Echo, everyone was in complete delight after his famous interview in the Yukos case, quoted, cut into fragments to give each other to each other, friends and acquaintances. I, looking at this excitement, became somehow embarrassed. No, of course, it is interesting when such a famous person speaks strong words live. True, from the side it seemed that he had previously accepted the “doping” in some quantity. But we do not get used to the periodic appearance of “stirred” participants on the air. You can really laugh at this.
In the end, I personally have nothing against Gerashchenko. But what does he represent? What idea? With what, where and whom will he lead? Well, let it use some sympathies of the communist electorate, some respect among the “apple trees” and, apparently, inspires hopes in the activists of “other Russia”, but what is the idea? To snatch a little voices from everyone? But still they will not be enough for any noticeable result! What is the use of discussing his abstract authority in various circles, high professionalism or “merits in the Soviet period, which is also important for voters”? What is this middle -aged already, a hundred times a famous person will go to the polls?
By the way, about fame. I foresee what kind of counter -propagandists will make when they want to play against Viktor Vladimirovich. You, my golden, have not forgotten the exchange of money yet? Our state is glorious, of course, by many meanings, and this one was not the worst and cynical. But still for me, this idea has become one of the symbols of the attitude of power to the people. The meaning of the exchange of money, which under the leadership of Gerashchenko was carried out, was in the vulgar seizure of this money from the population. Exchange old bills for new ones in three days, let's say. And then wild crowds choked in savings banks, stormed shops to have time to spend money at least on something, bought up the right and expensive, and then everything-and cheap and useless. I remember my friend’s comrade, saving the editorial office, ran around the city until we found the preserved powder in some store, judging by the label - “instant cocoa”. They bought all cocoa and then for three months all the editors drank and praised. This is all Gerashchenko and remind. And frankly, they will be right. And you don’t even have to remember about his participation in Yukos.
And what - under such a banner we will go to the Kremlin? Or for Mikhail Mikhailovich there are two (or how much?) Percently bones will we go to the electoral urns? By the way, but still for anyone - for Gerashchenko or Kasyanov - to vote something? Honestly, understanding how the elections will be held, I think that these two will rather fight each other than with the successor. But this is in passing.
And for the authorities, Gerashchenko, of course, is preferable. They want to arrange booths from the campaign, so they will be a booth. Candidate Zhirinovsky, some Malyshkin, Brynzalov, Zyuganov, more and more similar to himself from the deceased "Dolls". And Gerashchenko. And everything from the outside looks terribly democratically and alternatively - how many candidates! And already no Petrosyan or Comedy Klub is needed - you look at the debate and laugh.
