The Show Must Go on
So, almost two weeks after the voting day, the Ukrainian CEC finally calculated all 100% of the protocols. It is difficult to call the results unexpected: as sociologists predicted, five parties went to Rada, including the extreme left (communists) and the extreme right (“freedom”). The Party of Vitaly Klitschko came to the third, gaining about 14%, and the gap between the Party of Regions and the "Fatherland" (united opposition) amounted to less than 5% (30% of the pr at 25.53% of the "Fatherland").
The paradox of the situation is how these results are evaluated in blogs and in official media: here the leaders and outsiders have changed places. The ruling Party of Regions gained an arithmetic majority - 30%, headed the list of those who passed to the Rada and was unanimously recognized as ... the loser. And the winners of these elections, if again, judged by the reaction of journalists and bloggers, became far-righted nationalists who had scored a little more than ten percent and closing the list of parliamentary parties.
As for the loss of regionals, in a sense, it is technical, or rather, technological, but by a general sensation, and in arithmetic details, it looks catastrophic and in the future - hopeless. Compared to the past results, the PR lost voters everywhere, even in the native Donetsk region (1.27 million votes against 1.72 million in the 2007 elections). No one assumed that the regionals would take the Western districts, but few could have foreseen the deafening defeat of the party in the capital in the capital: according to party lists, PR received 12.6%in Kyiv, and in the majority, the regions lost their clean - in all districts. It seems that the Kyivians, coming to the sites, took the ballot and voted for the first surname - if only the candidate was “from the opposition”, if only “against power”. Otherwise, it is difficult to explain the victory of the odious ex-minister of the Tymoshenkovo cabinet Sergei Terekhin, who practically did not appear in his district. And even more so, no logic is preferred, which voters gave by the open demagogue Vladimir Yavorivsky before the “sponsor” of high -speed tram Valery Borisov. One must think, the only “guilt” of Borisov became the ties defamed with the regionals, and the only “merit” of Yavorivsky is a sonorous opposition rhetoric. In general, when Nikolai Azarov threw the Kyivians in his hearts that, they say, “those whom you have taken away will not help you,” he was rather right than right. And now, the Kyiv authorities can only rely on for a while: perhaps the people of Kiev will have time to be disappointed in their chosen ones before the deadline for city elections comes. Otherwise, the story of the “space mayor” Leonid Chernovetsky will repeat: at that time the capital also voted “spite the conductor”.
By and large, the Demagogue ball ruled in these elections. And the euphoria of those who inspired the protofashist “freedom”, and the serious fright of all others who are inclined to perceive “freedom” as a real party must think with the beginning of parliamentary sessions. Judging by the first bills that the “Svobodovites” and the Communists managed to publish, we will receive an incendiary talk show, a kind of “Schuster-Life” in the scenery of the Verkhovna Rada. The newly elected deputies will be more steeper than the previous ones “for the language” and for ... the ban on each other. At least this, apparently, that first of all intends to engage in “freedom” and the Communist Party of the Communist Party. With the economic bloc, everything is more complicated, here our rhetorical parties act “according to the situation”. But it is characteristic, for example, that the extremely right and extremely left categorically against the sale of land, the "Fatherland" here also gravitates to populism, and the Party of Regions is the only consistent "engine" of the land market.
Things are somewhat more complicated and interesting about the “boxing” party Vitaly Klitschko. The “blow” not just for the first time passed the 5%barrier-he took an honorable third place, strengthening his leader in his champion-presidential ambitions. But not so rosy. Being the definition of the Kyiv Party, the “blow” lost his way in Kyiv: in the majority districts of the Klitschko party, only one deputy managed to hold, and then they say, only because the representative of the Fatherland of Fatherland shot his candidacy. The reason, probably, is that the Kiev residents know the “policy” of the “blow” better than all others. Or let's say this: they know that the boxing party, in principle, has no policy.
But for all that, the party Vitaly Klitschko turned out to be the holder of the notorious “golden action”: from now on, the results of key votes will depend on it and it is with her that all other interested parties will have to agree with her. In a sense, this is a business need, and the problem is whether the champion will transfer his shares “into money” or still into a political rating.
But in general, there is no particular reason to rejoice at the loss of “regions” and the success of the nominal and collective “opposition”. In fact, the percentages that have lost the regions are all the same “Lumpen” interest: according to the apt remark of one of the Kyiv political scientists, from the paternalist rations (“buckwheat”) they moved to the field of irrational aggression (“Freedom”). The Ukrainian parliament has become more radical, demagogy and a frank show will be added in it, although it would seem much more.
