Keep dying

Ibragim Dadaev, who was in a Perm correctional colony, died due to an incorrect diagnosis. Instead of meningitis, which developed against the background of tuberculosis, they tried to treat him for a stroke. Since the beginning of the year, Dadaev’s condition has been deteriorating: according to the Perm Regional Human Rights Center, his blood pressure dropped, he stopped walking, by January 17 he did not recognize his relatives, and since January 24 he was constantly in a coma. On January 17, his relatives contacted the center, and the center’s employees contacted the department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Perm Territory with a request to release Dadaev and transfer him to a municipal medical institution. In the regional tuberculosis hospital OTB-7 in the city of Gubakha, where Dadaev was hospitalized, there is no license to perform resuscitation and there is no necessary equipment and expensive medicines. Dadaev was given only one tablet, dissolved in food, until his relatives managed to visit him and give him medicine. Previously, the prosecutor's office of the city of Kizel for monitoring compliance with the law in correctional institutions refused to transfer and release Dadaev, since the diagnosis given to him did not fall under the list of diseases giving the right to early release. Meningitis is first on this list. On January 28, Dadaev was transferred to the regional anti-tuberculosis clinical dispensary No. 1 “Phthisiopulmonology”, where he was connected to a ventilator. However, it was not possible to save him. It is possible that OTB-7 doctors will be prosecuted. Dadaev was 24 years old and was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
