Ivan Semenovich Chuykov was born in 1935 in Moscow in the family of a famous artist Semyon Chuikov, in 1960 he graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikova. In 1960-1962 he taught at the Vladivostok Art College.
The first exhibition of Ivan Chuikov took place during the VII World Youth and Students Festival in 1957. In the late 1960s, the artist destroyed almost all his picturesque works, since the mid-1970s he participated in exhibitions of unofficial art.
Since 1979, the personal exhibitions of Ivan Chuikov have been held in France, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Great Retriet and other countries, and since the beginning of the 1990s in Russia. The artist’s works are located in large museum and private collections, including the collections of the Pompidu Center in Paris, the Museum of the Zimmeri Museum in New Jersey, the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg and the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
