The command of the Russian Navy will move to St. Petersburg. According to Kommersant Wednesday with reference to a source in the Ministry of Defense, the beginning of the move was scheduled for April 2008, the completion is for 2009.

The head of the ministry Anatoly Serdyukov instructed the Commander -in -Chief of the Navy Vladimir Vysotsky to prepare the draft plan for the Emergency Committee. “The team was given from the very top, the government ordered the government to allocate money for this,” the source explained.

As the publication recalls, the idea of ​​moving was published in early October by the State Duma speaker Boris Gryzlov. According to him, this will be an important part of the St. Petersburg - Marine Capital of Russia. The idea was immediately supported by the governor of the city of Valentin Matvienko.

The General Committee of the Navy, according to the newspaper, will be placed in the building of the Admiralty, where before the revolution the sea ministry and the main naval headquarters were located.

The newspaper’s source in the Ministry of Defense said that the main problem of moving will not be the equipment of new premises of the Glavkomat by means of secure communication with the command of the strategic nuclear forces of the General Staff of Russia. “After all, nuclear submarines are led by the General Committee of the Navy, but with close coordination with the General Staff,” he explained. “It is unlikely to draw such communication lines by April 2008 - only auxiliary services will go to Peter in April. But Admiral Vysotsky will be able to report on the start of the crossing. He apparently forciates him to show himself.”

According to unofficial information, the Navy’s command expects to receive at least 15 billion rubles for a move, of which more than half will go to the purchase of housing for military sailors. It is also noted that it will be necessary to re -erect all the infrastructure of the Commander -in -Chief of the Navy now in Moscow and the Moscow Region, primarily the main and spare command posts.

The reconstruction of the Admiralty will need to be coordinated with the local department of the Rossvyazhkuzcran security officer, where they have not yet heard about plans for the transfer of the commander inaccurator. But the chairman of the Committee on State Use and Protection of Monuments of the Administration of St. Petersburg Vera Dementieva knows about them. She assessed the state of the Admiralty building as "unsatisfactory", although not emergency.

It was assumed that the necessary funds would allocate the Ministry of Defense, but the other day, according to Dementyeva, “one of the major Russian companies” expressed its intention to finance the restoration of the tower.

Now in the Admiralty there are three faculties of the Higher Naval Engineering School named after Dzerzhinsky, as well as the headquarters of the Leningrad naval base.
