The Committee on Affairs of Public Associations and Religious Organizations, along with the Committee on Health Protection and the Committee on Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, was among the Duma “portfolios” that representatives of the LDPR faction were asked to take, Interfax-Religion reports.
Meanwhile, this situation did not suit the permanent leader of the party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who had already stated that the Liberal Democrats were “given garbage alone” when distributing leadership positions.
According to V. Zhirinovsky, the faction will insist that its representative be allowed to head the committee on international affairs. “The international committee was approved at the very top - no, they took it away,” he complained.
LDPR deputies are threatening to boo Sergei Naryshkin when approving him for the post of Chairman of the State Duma, if the Liberal Democratic faction does not receive the previously promised leadership in the Duma Committee on International Affairs.
