The criminal case against former police major Alexei Dymovsky, who became famous throughout Russia, for reporting knowingly false information about the expenditure of government funds was terminated due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
First, a criminal case was opened against Dymovsky under the article “fraud using official position,” then it was reclassified as “official forgery committed out of personal interest.” On January 22, Dymovsky was taken into custody and put in a Krasnodar pre-trial detention center; on March 7, he was released on his own recognizance. As a result, the investigation was unable to prove that Dymovsky provided false information for selfish purposes, so they did not find any fraud in the actions of the former major.
