Russian human rights activist Leonard Ternovsky died after a serious illness. In the 70s, while working in a clinic, he was one of the few who was not afraid to provide medical care to dissidents. After serving time in the camps for “spreading false fabrications discrediting the state and social system of the USSR” and returning to Moscow in 1986, Ternovsky worked in a city hospital as a radiologist. In 1991 he was rehabilitated. The civil funeral service will take place on February 16, 2006.
