This man was known for never apologizing. His other colleagues, entering the train, began their memorized monologue with the traditional opening: “Respect citizens of the country! Please forgive me for disturbing you, allow me to attract your attention for two more minutes!”
The range of goods found on the stretch between Moscow and Mozhaisk has long been known. They sell toothbrushes: they have the strange ability to wear off on your teeth on the third day after use. Rubber gloves are offered in such volumes that they would be enough for an army of Jack the Rippers. Poisonous green gel pens, adhesive tape that will stick everything together, knives that will cut everything. Of course - beer. Of course - ice cream. For gourmets, there is also an unnatural invention of modern mass cooking - chocolate-covered seeds.
And a huge amount of spiritual food. First of all - the press. The latest issues of tabloid publications (“The Saratov region is again overcome by aliens”). Long-overdue issues of glossy fashion magazines, which were not sold out at one time and are now being hastily sold at a quarter of the price. (A saleswoman, wrapped in four scarves, offers something with a slogan on the cover: “Spring has come, it’s time to get naked!”) Some saleswoman was completely surprised - she was selling only one, for some reason the fourth volume of Dahl’s dictionary - from “word” to “Izhitsa” (it must have been the one that was stolen from the warehouse). The whole carriage was waiting to see if she would utter the traditional, but absolutely absurd in this situation, phrase: “I especially draw your attention: the goods are cheaper than on the trays!” She said it.
But this man didn’t talk about the price. He traveled by train and sold the newspaper of the spiritual opposition “Zavtra”. He was assertive and scandalous. He didn’t “promote” his product, but simply pushed it: “We buy without hesitation! Only from us! Secrets of the conspiracy against Russia! Anti-national businessmen are carrying out genocide of Russians. Democrats are the executioners of our children!” He also always chose his victim among the passengers: “There’s a girl sitting by the window. She’s reading the Crosswords newspaper. The girl doesn’t know that her children have no future. She doesn’t want to know anything!”
It has long become as much a part of the road as the huge hogweeds at Pionerskaya station. And when recently the brave fighter against Western ideology again appeared at the door of the carriage and raised a pile of his party press over his head, we were already prepared to hear about democrats and executioners.
But instead, he cheerfully shouted: “We offer you the cheapest newspaper! The newspaper “Zavtra”! For just a ruble! Dear passengers, where else will you find a newspaper for a ruble? Here I see a woman. She is reading the magazine “Liza”. This magazine costs seven rubles. Why do you buy a press for seven rubles when you can buy it for only a ruble? Only from us! We don’t miss out on our benefits! Saving money means prosperity for the family!"
And - not a word about conciliarity or the content of the newspaper in general. He didn’t even say anything about the fact that Slavic statehood is 600 thousand years old! The emphasis is placed exclusively on the selfish, monetary aspect.
So, appealing to our wallet, he walked through the entire carriage - a living example of how even those who have chosen to oppose him as a profession drown in the waves of the market. But no one bought the newspaper from him.
Apparently, uneconomical people were caught.
