A military formation of up to 200 troops is sent to the republic to participate in the UN peacekeeping operation in Sudan. As reported in a document published on the website of the President of Russia, the military is entrusted, in particular, with the tasks of helicopter support for rapid reaction forces, the transfer of airmobile reserves, round-the-clock medical evacuation measures and aerial surveillance.
