Mikhail Sergeyevich Evdokimov (1957-2005) was born in the city of Stalinsk (now Novokuznetsk) of the Kemerovo region, in a family of workers. Misha had six brothers and sisters. When he turned a year, the family moved to Altai, to the village of Verkh-Oobskoye.

In 1981, he abandoned his studies and went to Moscow, where he tried to enter the pop-cycle school. Having failed the exams, he returned to Novosibirsk, but soon made a new attempt to conquer the capital. In 1983, he was listening to the Moscow Regional Philharmonic and began to work as an artist of the conversational genre. In the spring of 1984, he made his debut in the program "Ogonyok", he was soon invited to the program "Around Laughter". For several years he performed in this program with various monologues and parodies.

In the late 1980s, he finally established himself as a comedian. In the 1990s, he successfully starred in the cinema-from 1991 to 2000, seven films with his participation were released, among which “I don’t want to marry” (1993), “About businessman Thomas” (1993), “Do not go to the fool” (1997), “Do you send us a messenger?” (1998), "Old Nags" (2000). Then he released several musical records - “we must live”, “get rid of, thin life!”, “Countrymen”. In 1992, he founded his own Evdokimov Theater, and at April 2004 he was its director.

In 1995, he unsuccessfully ran for the State Duma from Barnaul. He made a new attempt to be in power in 2004. In the second round, he won the election of the head of the administration of the Altai Territory. However, very soon he lost the support of fellow countrymen - in the elections to the regional Duma, most places were taken by supporters of his opponent - Alexander Surikov. In May 2005, the regional council issued a vote of mistrust Evdokimov. However, the Russian president left the governor at the post. At the insistence of their leader, employees of the administration of Evdokimov resigned.

On August 7, 2005, he died in a car accident 120 kilometers from Barnaul. Evdokimov and his wife Galina, accompanied by a driver and a guard, went to the village of Polkovnikovo at celebrations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the cosmonaut German Titov. The governor’s wife received severe injuries, the driver and guard died on the spot.
