There is an Independent Music Support Club in Moscow
our world is so arranged that only idiots like it completely. But someone tolerates the real or imaginary imperfection of the environment, and someone is trying to change. In accordance with their own ideas about what is best. Timur Chudutov belongs to the latter. The idea that radio and television music broadcasts are filled with shoddy pop has long been commonplace. While others repeated it for the 2000th time, Timur did not repeat it in 2001, but earned money and opened an audio recording library, the name of which speaks for itself: “Neformat Independent Music Support Club”.
First of all, this is a library, but instead of books - cassettes and compacts, instead of tables in the reading room - tape recorders and headphones. The selection of recordings is kaleidoscopically diverse, but basically what is not in demand by home-grown show business is presented - from Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich to Siberian punk rock. In addition to classics and a huge collection of folklore and ethnics, the basis of the audio library is the author's song and rock of all kinds and directions, for which there are only two restrictions. There is no outright pop music, and almost everything presented is in Russian. Because the main goal of the project is to tell about the song culture, which is poorly represented in the "format" information channels. At www.neformal.ru, they somehow "posted" the preferences of listeners for the week. I list the leaders: Umka & "Bronevichok", "Zimovye Zveryov", "Adaptation", "Zga", Sergey Kalugin, "Zoo", "Night Snipers", Olga Arefieva & "Ark", "Bashakov Band", Yanka Diaghileva, Alexander Bashlachev, "Warm track", "Civil defense"... This is largely due to the fact that, first of all, they listen to those groups and those authors whose work is familiar from individual songs or only from titles and names.
Until recently, the club was located near the House of Postgraduate and Student of Moscow State University (the organizer often personally stood at the entrance, explaining how necessary and interesting his undertaking was). In addition to students, the fan clubs of Umka and Olga Arefieva, "native" to Timur, formed the basis of the first wave of visitors. Thanks to voluntary assistants, the activities of the club were not limited to the audio library and the website. The first CD-ROM of young authors and bands will be released, their concerts are regularly held in the club (except perhaps completely helpless ones are refused). "Neformat" is preparing promotional cassettes with a monthly repertoire for the hall of the Central House of Artists and the Forpost club, in the new season the range of announced concert venues is expanding. There are other plans for the future as well. In the meantime, the club has moved to Kutuzovsky, to the Astrum Children's Creativity Center. Next door is the Arc de Triomphe, and the corresponding address: Victory Square, building 1a. Maybe not by chance?
