The Moscow prosecutor's office drew attention to serious violations in the work of pre-trial detention centers in the capital. Reportedly, inspections carried out this year showed that “violations of sanitary standards, as well as electrical and fire safety standards, health protection, and other legal requirements during detention are constantly being identified.” It is interesting that back in the fall, when the lawyers of Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev pointed out the same violations, the authorities stated that the capital’s penitentiary system was functioning flawlessly.
