The organizer of the Moscow gay pride parades, the founder of the GayRussia.Ru portal dedicated to the fight for the rights of homosexuals, Nikolai Alekseev, was removed from the Moscow-Geneva plane and taken from Domodedovo airport in an unknown direction. Then there were reports that he was taken back to the airport, but his luggage was not returned, and Alekseev fears that something might be planted on him. Alekseev knows that a representative of the airline on which he was planning to fly to Geneva was instructed to remove the activist’s luggage from the flight and unload it. Later it turned out that Alekseev was not released, he is still 600 kilometers from Moscow, and his luggage is at Domodedovo.

Alekseev’s detention became known after he sent an SMS to Solidarity movement activist Alexey Davydov. The message said that Alekseev began to be searched by police. The airport police station did not confirm the information about the arrest. On the morning of September 16, Davydov received several SMS messages from someone else’s phone on behalf of Alekseev. According to the activist, he was taken out of the city, where they demanded that he withdraw the notice of a rally against Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov (as is known, a great friend of gays), planned for September 21, and all claims about the Moscow government banning gay pride parades from 2006 to 2010. Meanwhile, Alekseev has nothing to do with the rally on September 21, but Davydov does.

According to the latest information received by Interfax from Alekseev himself, he was expelled from Russia, he is now in Minsk, but intends to return in the coming days and take part in the anti-Luzhkov action.
